This conversation can’t be stopped. So much of what these boys said gives so much insight into the broken state of our system. Their knowledge and voices are everything.  So proud of them for having this conversation.

“If you come to look at it, a lot of Black people, even on television, they don’t get…like, you see white people— not to be racist, but Caucasian, overall— 16 and Pregnant, stuff like that, or Jersey Shore…you see a lot of caucasians and Italians going crazy on TV, even on the show “Jail,” you see a lot of white people getting arrested. But as for Black people, there’s no time to pull out handcuffs, there’s only hand guns. And it’s always putting bullets through some bodies instead of even giving em the glory for being on television for doing something wrong, even when Trayvon did nothing wrong. He got no glory, just a death.”

“One too many Black people together is going to look suspicious, no matter how you look at it.”

“It’s not a matter of education or any mental value at all…they want us to stop being Black.”

“I think we need teachers to teach us aside from school…we need someone to teach us…just be with us.”
“They put in the wrong teachers.” 

These young men are breaking my heart, but they sure are dropping hella truth bombs.
